Titanic was one of the most successful pictures of all time after its debut in 1997, generating more than $2.1 billion worldwide and ranking third among the highest-grossing movies of all time. Leonardo DiCaprio was the lead in the film, read below to know how much did he get paid for the Titanic film.

Given that Leonardo DiCaprio already had a successful career when he was cast as Jack Dawson, I confidence and believe that the Oscar winner, who earned $25 million for The Wolf of Wall Street, won’t have to think about receiving a pittance for his performance in the film because he signed a multi-million dollar contract.

Of course, it was a pittance compared to the money he currently earns every picture, but the figure was nonetheless significant.

Leonardo DiCaprio received $2.5 million pay for his role as Jack Dawson in Titanic, but he was expected to get much more money thanks to a negotiated deal he struck with the studio for a 1.8 per cent share of the film’s gross revenue. Because Titanic is the third highest-grossing movie ever made, Leonardo’s real earnings from his role in the film might be considerably more than his base pay – the 46-year-old might have made quite so much as $45 million.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s co-star Kate Winslet, but on the other hand, was paid $2 million for the part of Rose Dewitt Bukater, which really isn’t terrible considering all of the fantastic and high-paying films she’s done ever since.
In a 2016 conversation with Deadline, the Los Angeles native raved over the movie’s success, saying, “Titanic was very much an experiment for Kate Winslet and I.”
