Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

Sooraj Barjatya wrote and directed Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, a 2015 Bollywood Hindi-language romantic subplot film produced by Rajshri Productions and released by Fox Star Studios. It is also the fourth partnership among Barjatya and Khan, following Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!, and Hum Saath Saath Hain. It stars Salman Khan (in a dual character) and Sonam Kapoor.

The score was composed by Sanjoy Chowdhury, while the lyrics were written by Himesh Reshammiya. The principal filming for the film began on June 26, 2014, and ended on September 2, 2015. On November 12th, 2015, it was released globally.

The movie was commercially successful, earning $3.88 billion (US$52 million) globally, making it the second-highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2015 and is one of the highest-grossing Bollywood movies ever. According to Indian news reports, the movie’s central narrative is based on the 2012 South Korean movie Masquerade, which has been largely based upon Anthony Hope’s 1894 novel The Prisoner of Zenda.

Salman Khan plays Yuvraj Vijay Singh, a rich crown prince of Pritampur who is about to be proclaimed king (honorific, as there are no official kings and kingdoms in modern India).

Rajkumari Maithili Devi (Sonam Kapoor), a princess from the royal line of Devgarh, a neighbouring country, is his fiancée. Vijay, on the other hand, has a lot of issues with Maithili, as well as his brother and sisters, because of his stiff and obstinate character.
Rajkumari Chandrika (Swara Bhaskar) and Rajkumari Radhika (Aashika Bhatia), his wealthy half-sisters, live in a separate rented bungalow outside the royal palace, with Chandrika working as an accounts head in a municipal school, and have filed a claim against Vijay for a share of the royal property, believing the Queen (Karuna Pandey) wronged their mother when she disgraced her in front.

Moreover, because of Maithili’s engagement to Vijay, Chandrika and Maithili, who were closest friends in school, find their bond ruined. Similarly, his half-brother Yuvraj Ajay Singh (Neil Nitin Mukesh) swears revenge and has been plotting to assassinate him and claim the throne for himself. He enlists the assistance of his manager Chirag Singh (Armaan Kohli) and Vijay’s secretary Sameera (Samaira Rao). Chirag leads Ajay astray at every turn while betraying him behind his back. Vijay narrowly avoids being killed in an assassination plot orchestrated by Ajay and Chirag, but he is severely hurt. He’s being held captive in a secret chamber guarded by two physicians.

Meanwhile, Prem Dilwale (Salman Khan), Vijay’s lookalike and a love guru, a cheerful, vivacious, and carefree stage actor who falls in love with Princess Maithili, travels to Pritampur with his buddy Kanhaiya to visit her (Deepak Dobriyal). Sanjay (Deepraj Rana), the Security Head of Pritampur Palace, sees him by accident at a bus stop and brings him to Diwan Sahib (Anupam Kher). When Diwan notices Prem’s strong similarity to Yuvraj Vijay, he asks Prem to fill in for Yuvraj while he recovers from his coma. Prem plays Yuvraj Vijay, but his simple, compassionate personality fascinates Maithili, who had intended to break up with Vijay but unwittingly falls in love with Prem.

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo also tries to mend fences with Vijay’s sisters by bringing them back to the royal palace and preparing legal paperwork to transfer all of the royal family’s assets to them. His half-sisters are so affected by this gesture that, with a little prodding from Maithili, they alter their minds and refuse to deprive the prince of his inheritance, instead choosing to reconnect with him as his sisters.

Meanwhile, Yuvraj Ajay and Chirag discover that Prem is just acting as the prince and abduct the real Vijay. Chirag sets out to deceive Ajay by releasing Vijay and feeding him false information in order to put him against Ajay and Prem. When Prem and Kanhaiya arrive and clear the commotion, Vijay and Ajay engage in a sword battle. Chirag tries to shoot them down, but he dies in the process. Ajay apologises for his actions, and Vijay forgives him. After Prem has departed to go to his home, Maithili is horrified to learn the truth regarding Prem not being Yuvraj Vijay and is sad. Finally, the royal family arrives at Prem’s home to reunite Prem and Maithili, who married blissfully with Kanhaiyya and Sameera.
