Bunty Aur Babli is indeed a 2005 Hindi-language criminal movie directed by Shaad Ali and written by Jaideep Sahni, centered on a script by Aditya Chopra and produced by Yash Raj Films. This movie stars Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji inside the lead parts, alongside Amitabh Bachchan in the supporting role. This is the first movie to feature the Bachchan father-son tandem. Bunty and Babli, played by Bachchan Jr. and Mukerji, are con-artist partners-in-crime, whereas JCP Dashrath, played by Bachchan Sr., is entirely focused on catching them.

Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy composed the movie’s soundtrack, which was published under the YRF Music imprint, with lyrics written by Gulzar and Blaaze jointly.

Bunty Aur Babli was the second highest-earning Indian film of the year, collecting $634 million worldwide on a budget of 120 million. At the 51st Filmfare Awards, the filmfare eight nominations, including Best Film, Best Actor for Bachchan Jr., Best Actress for Mukerji, as well as Best Supporting Actor for Bachchan Sr. It also won three awards: Best Music for Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Best Lyrics for Gulzar, and Best Female Playback for Alisha Chinai, the latter two for the song “Kajra Re.”

Bunty Aur Babli 2, a spiritual sequel featuring Rani Mukerji, Saif Ali Khan, and Siddhant Chaturvedi, is slated to be released in 2021.

Bhale Dongalu, featuring Tharun and Ileana D’Cruz, was a Telugu remake of the film.

The movie’s soundtrack was previously offered to A. R. Rahman, however he rejected owing to his hectic schedule. The soundtrack was published on April 13, 2005 by Yash Raj Music and comprises six pieces created by the musical team Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The album’s primary stars, Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji, danced to the music. Gulzar and Blaaze collaborated on the lyrics.

The soundtrack CD for this movie was the year’s second best-selling, as per the Indian trade website Box Office India, with roughly 19,00,000 units sold.

Bunty Aur Babli 2, directed by Varun V. Sharma and produced by Aditya Chopra, was announced by Yash Raj Films in December 2019. The movie, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherji, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and debutante Sharvari Wagh, was scheduled for release on June 26, 2020, but has been postponed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film will now be released in theatres on November 19, 2021.
