The Supreme Court granted Sherlyn Chopra protection bail in Porn case

Sherlyn Chopra has been in the news recently due to her involvement in the Supreme Court’s decision on Friday in the pornographic film racket case. On Sherlyn’s appeal against a Bombay high court order rejecting her anticipatory bail application, a bench of Justices Vineet Saran and Aniruddha Bose issued notice to the Maharashtra government.

The apex court stated in its notice that no coercive action should be taken against the petitioner. “Issue notice… In the meantime, no coercive action shall be done against the petitioner,” the bench stated in its statement. Chopra’s lawyer, Sunil Fernandes, said that other defendants in the case had previously been granted protection.

Sherlyn Chopra and actress Poonam Pandey have been named as defendants in the FIR. Similar to other decisions awarding protection to Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra as well as Poonam Pandey in the very same FIR, the actress has been granted a stay of arrest.
