Aamir Khan vs CBFC: Will ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ Face a Delay Over Creative Differences?

Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par may be heading toward a last-minute showdown with the CBFC. As per sources, the actor-producer has rejected two suggested cuts by the board, holding firm on preserving his creative vision.

The film—expected to release on June 20—has already been cleared by the British Board of Film Classification with a 12A certificate, but the Indian release now faces uncertainty.

Khan reportedly believes that every scene and line in the film serves a critical narrative purpose. He is expected to meet CBFC officials to defend the film’s original edit. If unresolved, the film’s Indian release could face a delay.

Set to portray a passionate basketball coach to a team of specially-abled children, Aamir’s return to the big screen with Genelia D’Souza is eagerly awaited. But will this battle with the board cost the film its scheduled debut?
