‘PK,’ starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma, was the first Indian film to gross Rs 300 crore when it was released on December 19, 2014. The film, directed by one of the acclaimed director in Bollywood Rajkumar Hirani, grossed Rs 792 crore globally and Rs 340 crore in India, making it the year’s highest-grossing Indian film.

It is a satirical comedy-drama film directed by Rajkumar Hirani and written by Hirani and Abhijat Joshi that was released in India in 2014. Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra produced it under their respective brands Rajkumar Hirani Films and Vinod Chopra Films. The film stars Aamir Khan as the title character, as well as Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, and Saurabh Shukla in supporting parts. In addition to Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, and Saurabh Shukla play important parts in the film.

The storey revolves around a humanoid extraterrestrial who becomes stuck on Earth, the planet he was sent to investigate. He encounters various elements of mankind during his trip, including faiths, traditions, dialects, clothing, rituals, and beliefs. The first Bollywood film to be shot in Belgium was PK.

On the 19th of December, 2014, PK was launched. It got mostly favourable reviews, including an appreciation for Khan’s performance and the representation of superstitions. At the 60th Filmfare Awards, the film garnered eight nominations and won two. It also received five Producers Guild Film Awards as well as two Screen Awards.
