After three years, a new renter has allegedly moved into the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput flat in Mumbai. The apartment would reportedly rent for Rs. 5 lahks per month.
It has been claimed that a new renter has moved into Sushant Singh Rajput’s seaside flat on Carter Road in Mumbai. After a lengthy wait of three years, the actor from Kedarnath is now ready to rent out his four-bedroom property, according to sources in the Times Of India. According to reports, the NRI-owned apartment would be rented out for Rs. 5 lahks per month with an Rs. 30 lakh security deposit.
A real estate broker by the name of Rafique Merchant has revealed to the Times Of India that Sushant Singh Rajput’s residence is now finally being rented out. The agent claims that a few months ago, the NRI apartment owner approached him about the same. “We have found somebody (a tenant). We are in the final stage of talks with the family to finalise things. People are now relaxed about it (Sushant’s death) because they say it has been a while,” said Rafique in his chat with the daily.
“People are scared to move into this flat. When prospective tenants would hear that this is the same apartment where he died, they would not even visit. Nowadays, people are at least visiting the flat as the news of his death has become old. Yet, the deal is not getting finalised,” said Rafique Merchant. “The owner is also very particular and doesn’t want to come down on the rent. If he does, it’ll be sold quickly. Since he’s selling it at the market price, tenants prefer buying some other flat of a similar size in the same area since it would come without the baggage of controversy that this flat is associated with,” he added.
Sushant Singh Rajput moved into this flat in December 2019 for those who are unaware (with a contract for the next 3 years). He allegedly paid Rs. 4.51 lakh in rent per month at that time. The late actor shared the apartment with a couple of his close pals and his then-girlfriend, actress Rhea Chakraborty.
