Puli: All you need to know about this Tamil Blockbuster movie

Puli

Chimbu Deven wrote and directed Puli, a 2015 Tamil-language fantasy adventure action movie. Vijay plays a demon prince as well as his son, a half-devil, in the movie, which also features Hansika Motwani and Shruti Haasan as the female roles. Sudeep plays the major antagonist inside the movie, with cameo appearances by Prabhu and Nandita Swetha. Sridevi plays the terrible Queen who has been possessed.

On October 1, 2015, this movie’s original Tamil version was released globally. On October 2, 2015, the movie was dubbed into Telugu as well as Hindi and released a day later. The picture did well in other countries, but not so well in the United States.

In China and Japan, the movie was released.

The movie not only recouped its budget during its run but then also made a profit by selling Tamil, Telugu, as well as Hindi satellite rights, with 20 per cent of merely the Hindi and Telugu rights paying Sridevi a payment of 70,000 rupees.

The Tamil satellite rights sold for 22 crores to Sun TV, as well as the movie, recouped its investment of 100 crores, leaving the Tamil language alone profit margin again for creators of Puli at roughly 3-4 crore, making it a low-profitable endeavour.

The movie’s visual effects were acclaimed, however its narrative, as well as editing, were panned. The plot centres around a battle between humans and demons (Vedhalams) in a fantasy world ruled by a demon kingdom, in which a human seeks revenge for the massacre of humanity by demons, but his origins remains a mystery.

The Puli movie’s series also brought in some money. The film’s weaponry, armour, clothing, and combat skills, according to DNA India, were inspired by Game of Thrones, while Vijay and Sudeep’s characterisations resembled Jon Snow and Stannis Baratheon.

Puli, on the other hand, grossed a total of 150 crores at the box office in both Tamil and Telugu languages over the course of its 60-day run, making it a mediocre endeavour.

The movie’s half-demon premise was partially inspired by the Japanese hit anime manga series Inuyasha, in which Vijay is a “Tiger-demon” with tiger’s fangs and blue eyes, similarly to which, Vijay is a “Tiger-demon” with tiger’s teeth as well as blue eyes.

Devi Sri Prasad created the movie’s score as well as the soundtrack, partnering with Vijay for the third time following Sachein (2005) and Villu (2009). The movie’s audio rights were acquired by Sony Music India. The album contains six songs, all of which were composed by Vairamuthu.

On July 24, 2015, the music teaser for “Yendi Yendi,” sung by Vijay and Shruti Hassan, was released. The audio launch was place on August 2, 2015. The event was live-streamed on YouTube.

“Puli’s music will need the magnificent visuals since it is planned to bear in mind what’s going to appear on screen,” said Behindwoods, who gave the album a 2.75 out of 5 ratings. Indiaglitz agreed with Indiaglitz’s assessment and stated: “The album is racy in general, although only in some sections. DSP’s snoopiness for the choice of instruments, orchestrina of genres, and traditional melodies appears to have decreased in his vigour. The majority of the record, though, seems like it was made for situational music. Let’s watch the whole thing unfold on the screen.”

Vairamuthu wrote all of the lyrics.
