Sanjeev Reddy helmed as well as Madhura Sreedhar Reddy produced ABCD: American Born Confused Desi, an Indian Telugu-language drama movie. Allu Sirish and Rukshar Dhillon feature in the movie. The term “American-Born Confused Desi” refers to Indians born in the United States who struggle to balance their ethnic identity well with dominant non-Indian American society. The movie is just a remake of the same-named Malayalam film. On May 17, 2019, the movie was released.

Aravind (Allu Sirish) and his cousin Bhasha are two spoilt kids who star in the film (Master Bharath). Avi is indeed the son of a New York-based millionaire (Nagendra Babu), whereas Bhasha’s mother has moved to Paris with her new spouse. Aravind and Bhasha live the high life, driving fancy automobiles and frequenting pubs, among other things. Avi’s father convinces them to go to India for vacation but afterwards bans their credit cards, forcing them to live in abject poverty in Andhra Pradesh, where they finally become renowned. Aravind and Bhasha attempt to remain at a hotel despite the fact that their credit cards have been blocked; however, they quickly discover out and attempt to flee the hotel to avoid spending.

They are apprehended by the hotel manager, who has their visas confiscated when they can pay. Avi’s father provides inadequate lodgings for Avi and Bhasha. They try to gain cash by trading counterfeit banknotes, but they have been taken advantage of. Both Avi and Bhasha enrol in college to complete their MBAs (which Avi’s father pushed them to do). Avi meets Neha (Rukshar Dhillon) later in college and falls in love with her. Neha, too, reciprocates her emotions for Avi after a sequence of incidents. Aravind unintentionally becomes a contender for the Mr Fame title and understands that winning the honour and collecting the prize money will allow him to return to America (500,000 rupees).

Bhasha and Avi stage a demonstration to raise their profile, but the event ends with a police lathi charge. And though the gathering boosts Aravind and Bhasha’s popularity, this also attracts Aravind, another Mr Fame contender as well as the son of a minister, who attempts to break up the protest with violence. In the middle of the mayhem, Aravind fully grasps and empathises with the hardships that individuals born into poverty face. Avi wins Mr Fame, but onstage, he admits to the motivations behind his acts. Aravind decides to finish his education in India.

Judah Sandhy created the movie’s soundtrack, with lyrics by Bhaskarabhatla, Krishna Kanth, as well as Tirupathi Jaavana.

The performances, and also the lack of a plot and screenplay, were generally panned inside the reviews.

On May 17, 2019, the movie was released in theatres. Goldmines Telefilms adapted the movie in Hindi and broadcast it with their own TV channel Dhinchaak on February 20, 2021.
