Why is Bollywood dancing so popular?

Bollywood dance’s existence and globalisation may be regarded as both a positive and bad event. On the plus side, including dance in films is an excellent way of both disseminating the art of dancing and motivating others to engage in or become interested in it. Promoting Bollywood dance fosters multiculturalism in the nations where it is performed, as well as raising awareness of a piece of Cultural identity and dance.

While other dance traditions in these nations adopt parts of Bollywood dance into their own repertory, a fusion of styles is created, and the movement vocabulary available to both performers and choreographers is expanded. Trained students and professors might make changes to the dance form or utilise Bollywood motions as inspiration for a new piece of choreography. This exposure to “different” kinds of dance not only allows people to learn more about dance, but it also has the potential to encourage people to study more about the history and build greater awareness and tolerance for various cultures.

The Bollywood Movies are great instances of globalisation since they feature a hybridization of the West and India, migration, and the globalisation of Bollywood in tandem with India’s rise as a worldwide force. The dancing form has swiftly spread around the world thanks to advancements in technology and communication, migration, and India’s growing strength and influence in the world. As Bollywood films and dance have grown in popularity, the dance style has evolved into many other forms and interpretations.

Now, the dancing technique may be included in musical films, taught in courses, competed in, or used as a form of fitness. As the already hybridised dance form evolves and expands, it’s becoming more difficult to say if globalisation is a beneficial or harmful thing. On a worldwide scale, Bollywood might help India gain wealth and fame, but it also reinforces prejudices. Additionally, a rise in dance awareness might be seen favourably, but changing a cultural asset can be seen as both insulting and unneeded.
