Alone is indeed a History reality television show that airs in the United States. It chronicles the self-documented daily hardships of ten individuals (seven partnered teams in season 4) while they attempt to survive alone through the woods for as long as humanly possible with only having a limited supply of survival gear. The participants are segregated from one another and all the other people, except perhaps medical check-ins. They can “tap out” at any moment or be removed if a medical check-in is failed. The contender who lasts the longest receives $500,000. grand prize.
Northern Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Nahuel Huapi National Park in Argentinian Patagonia, northern Mongolia, and indeed the Great Slave Lake inside the Northwest Territories are among the distant locales where the seasons were shot, most of which are Indigenous-controlled areas.
On June 18, 2015, the series premiered. The series was renewed for such a second season on August 19, the day before the season 1 finale, with filming set to begin inside the fall of 2015 on Vancouver Island, Canada. The second season began airing on April 21, 2016. Season 3 was shot in Patagonia, Argentina within the second quarter of 2016 as well as debuted on December 8, 2016. History revealed that casting for season 4 had begun one week before the season 3 premiere. Season 4 debuted on June 8, 2017, and also was situated on Northern Vancouver Island with such a team dynamic. Season 5 was situated in Northern Mongolia, and so it permitted prior season losers to play again.
On June 11, 2020, the seventh season premiere. Participants competed in a 100-day survival challenge in the Arctic for a chance to earn a $1 million reward.
Alone: The Beast, a spin-off series, launched on January 30, 2020. Three people attempt to survive in the woods for 30 days with nothing but their own clothing and a freshly slaughtered animal in this series. One group was given a 1,000-pound bull moose in the Arctic, while two other groups were transported to Louisiana’s swamps and given an alligator and a wild boar, respectively.
