Imam Siddique Cites 44-Year Career After Salman’s BB20 Remark

Imam Siddique has asked Salman Khan and the Bigg Boss 20 team to clarify an on-air reference he calls defamatory and factually incorrect.

Imam Siddique Cites 44-Year Career After Salman's BB20 Remark

Imam Siddique has written an open letter to Salman Khan after the host used his Bigg Boss 6 stint as an example during a Weekend Ka Vaar conversation on Bigg Boss 20. Imam is objecting to the characterisation and asking for a correction.

What happened on Weekend Ka Vaar

During Saturday’s episode, Salman Khan was speaking with contestant Qazi Touqeer about his behaviour towards Kanika Mann. In that conversation, Salman brought up Imam Siddique and suggested that Imam had entered the Bigg Boss house with the intention of troubling other contestants.

The exchange reached Imam after the episode aired. He posted a clip and an open letter addressed to Salman, saying the description of his season was wrong.

Imam’s response

In his letter, Imam wrote that he never harassed another contestant with the intent to trouble them. He said his Bigg Boss 6 journey was built around entertainment, tasks and performance.

“I have never harassed any contestant with the intent to trouble them.”

Imam called the reference “extremely defamatory and factually incorrect.” He said being used as a negative example on a large television platform could affect his professional reputation, and he pointed to a career spanning 44 years across advertising, broadcasting, corporate work, design, education, events, entertainment and fashion.

What Imam wants next

  • A clarification and correction on the show from Salman and the Bigg Boss team.
  • An assurance that his name will not be used in what he considers a defamatory context again.

For Bigg Boss viewers, this is the kind of public clarification that matters because prime-time comments linger. A host’s aside can quickly become a contestant’s reputation, especially when that person is not in the room to respond. Reality show hosts are not neutral narrators. When Salman Khan comments on a former contestant, that comment travels as a clip, a headline and a social media debate. For someone who works across fashion, events and entertainment, the difference between “entertaining” and “harassing” can be professionally meaningful.

Respectful, but firm

Imam kept the letter respectful. He described Salman as an “elder brother of the industry” and said he still respects him. He ended with a request for the same fairness “you show inside the house.”

Imam’s Bigg Boss 6 run is still remembered for his clashes and the famous “Salman Bhai, time out” moment. This time, he is asking for a different kind of moment: a public correction.

For anyone in public life, the playbook here is straightforward. Put the objection in writing, stick to the specific words being contested, and ask for a correction on the same platform. Keeping the tone respectful keeps the focus on the original remark rather than turning the dispute into a personal fight.
