Rishi Kapoor was one of the most celebrated and loved actors, who ruled the hearts of millions of fans. The veteran actor’s death left a void in Hindi cinema. On the occasion of his 69th birth anniversary today, (September 4) several Bollywood stars, namely, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anushka Sharma, Alia Bhatt, Sonam Kapoor, and others remembered him.
Rishi Kapoor died on April 3, 2020, in Mumbai. The 67-year old actor was battling leukemia. Alia Bhatt, who is dating his son, Ranbir Kapoor, also remembered him and expressed that she is missing him. Taking to Instagram, the actress shared the poster of his last film, Sharmaji Namkeen.
Nieces Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan and dropped their uncle Rishi Kapoor’s first look from his last film on his birth anniversary.
Remembering his larger-than-life smile, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja also took to Instagram to wish and remember him on his birth anniversary. “Remembering your wise words and larger-than-life smile. Happy birthday, Rishi uncle. Your legacy continues to shine on,” she added.
Anushka Sharma shared the actor’s picture on Instagram and remembered him. “Remembering the iconic Rishi Kapoor Ji on his birth anniversary. You will always be missed,” added the actress.
“Remembering Rishi Ji. Your charisma lives on,” wrote Doctor G actress Rakul Preet Singh, along with a picture of Rishi Kapoor.
Huma Qureshi, who shared the screen space with the iconic actor in their film, D-Day, posted a photograph with him on social media and wrote, “Happy Birthday #rishikapoor. Remembering.”
Rishi Kapoor died on April 30, 2020. The actor was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018. Following this, he along with his wife and actress Neetu Kapoor jetted off to New York for his treatment. He then returned to India in September 2019.
