Apple TV+ has revealed the cast of Scott Z. Burns’ upcoming climate change anthology show Extrapolations. The series will feature Edward Norton, Indira Varma, Keri Russell, Cherry Jones, as well as Michael Gandolfini.
Norton, who has appeared in movies including such Motherless Brooklyn and Keeping the Faith, portrays a scientist named Jonathan Chopin, as per Deadline. Gandolfini, who was most notably seen in The Many Saints of Newark, plays Jonathan’s son, computer programmer Rowan Chopin. Gita Mishra is played by Varma.
Ellaria Sand in Game of Thrones and Piety Breakspear in Carnival Row are two of her notable roles. Russell, who has been in shows such as The Americans and Felicity, plays Olivia Drew, a hired gun. Elizabeth Burdick, president of the United States, is played by Jones, who had previously starred in The Village and The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
Meryl Streep, Matthew Rhys, Marion Cotillard, Eiza Gonzalez, Tobey Maguire, Forest Whitaker, Kit Harrington, Sienna Miller, Gemma Chan, Tahar Rahim, Daveed Diggs, David Schwimmer, and Adarsh Gourav are among the already revealed cast members, plus much to be announced.
The series would present stories about how impending changes towards the planet will affect day-to-day living, including love, faith, work, as well as family, out over course of eight episodes.
Michael Ellenberg’s Media Res is now working on Extrapolations, which will be released on Apple TV Plus. Executive producers for the series will include writer and director Burns, Ellenberg, Greg Jacobs, Dorothy Fortenberry, and Media Res’ Lindsey Springer.
