In the wake of recent ban on various OTT platforms and apps in India due to their depiction of bold content, Bekaboo 3 actress Nikkita Ghag has stepped forward to share her perspective on the matter. As someone deeply entrenched in the entertainment industry, Ghag provides valuable insights into the implications of such regulatory actions and their impact on the platforms on which her upcoming web show is due.

Discussing how she found out about the Indian government banning OTT platforms and apps that show bold content, Nikkita says, “I found out about the Indian government’s decision to ban OTT platforms and apps showing bold content through news reports and social media. When I heard the news, I was initially surprised and concerned about how it would impact the entertainment industry and freedom of expression. However, I also understand the need for regulations to ensure content is suitable for all audiences and respects cultural sensitivities.”

When asked if she was worried that the platform on which her upcoming show is released might also get banned, given that it features bold content like other platforms that were recently banned, she says, “I was concerned about my upcoming show which is about to release on a platform, considering the government’s stance on platforms featuring bold content. However, I believe our platform also offers a diverse range of content beyond just bold themes, and we are committed to adhering to any regulations while continuing to provide quality entertainment to our viewers.”

Sharing about the relieved feeling when she found out that the platform wasn’t banned, says, “I was relieved and happy when I found out that the platform on which my upcoming show will be releasing wasn’t banned. It’s a platform that provides opportunities for artists like me to showcase our talent and creativity. Knowing that we can continue to bring diverse and engaging content to our audience is a cause for celebration.”

Discussing how the platform is planning to innovate and introduce fresh, intimate content in her upcoming series considering the recent regulatory challenges faced by OTT platforms, says, “Despite the recent regulatory challenges, the platform remains committed to innovating and delivering fresh, intimate content to our audience. With my upcoming series, we are exploring unique narratives and characters while ensuring compliance with regulations. Our focus is on storytelling that resonates with viewers while pushing creative boundaries within the parameters set by the regulatory framework. We believe in offering engaging and diverse content experiences, and the series will be no exception.”
