A few months ago, Jacqueline Fernandez made news after her name was linked to a money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. After a few months, the actress is back in the spotlight. In the extortion case against conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is said to have attached the actress’s assets worth Rs. 7.27 crore. A fixed deposit worth Rs. 7.12 crore is among the assets tied to her name.
According to an NDTV report, the ED assessed that Sukesh Chandrashekhar used the extorted money to offer gifts worth Rs 5.71 crores to Jacqueline Fernandez. Sukesh is also claimed to have provided Jacqueline’s close family members monies totalling roughly 173,000 US dollars and 27,000 Australian dollars. Sukesh is now detained in connection with a five-year-old cheating case involving lawmaker TTV Dhinkaran. On April 4, the ED apprehended him. Sukesh was reportedly nabbed by RD last year for extorting Rs 215 crore from the wife of a Delhi businessman. In October 2021, the ED questioned Jacqueline for many hours. Sukesh sent Jacqueline Fernandez extravagant presents worth over Rs 10 crore, according to the case’s charge sheet.
In the meanwhile, Jacqueline Fernandez has a number of intriguing projects in the works. She was most recently seen in Bachchan Paandey, in which she co-starred with Akshay Kumar and Kriti Sanon and was aired on the OTT platform, and then in Attack Part 1, in which she co-starred with John Abraham and Rakul Preet Singh and was released on the big screen. Along with Akshay Kumar, she has Ram Setu.
