Deep Sidhu, a Punjabi actor, died in a horrific vehicle accident on Tuesday, February 15. At approximately 8:30 p.m., the actor’s automobile crashed with a truck on the Manesar-Palwal highway near the Singhu border in Haryana’s Sonipat district. He died en route to the hospital, according to reports.
Reena Rai, his girlfriend, was in the car and survived thanks to the airbag, according to India Today. “Reena was on the left side of the automobile, which was not substantially damaged,” police stated. Reena’s airbag was activated immediately after the collision, sparing her life. Reena was buckled up, and her airbag did not inflate once it opened. In the instance of Deep Sidhu, however, the airbag burst after it was opened.”
Punjab Chief Minister remembered Deep Sidhu in a tweet that read, “Deeply saddened to learn about the unfortunate demise of renowned actor and social activist, #DeepSidhu. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family and fans.”
Many celebrities, including Sunny Deol, Mika Singh, Ammy Virk, and many Punjabi icons, have expressed their condolences following his death.
Deep Sidhu had turned activist and made news last year when he was detained on January 26 at a farmers’ protest march for allegedly being part in the Red Fort violence.
