The film, directed by Kabir Khan, follows the Indian cricket team as they struggle against all obstacles to win the 1983 World Cup. Kapil Dev, the captain of the Indian cricket team, was played by the actor. The film will be released on digital platforms after an eight-week run at the Indian box office. It’ll be available on two distinct streaming platforms, and there’s a purpose for that.
83 will be available on Netflix India and Disney+ Hotstar at the same time, according to a daily. While the Hindi rights to the film have been acquired by Netflix India, the film will be available on Disney+ Hotstar in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Raajkamal Films International, Kamal Haasan’s company, and Akkineni Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios teamed up with Reliance Entertainment to release the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film, respectively. The film was released in Malayalam and Kannada by Prithviraj’s production and Kichcha Sudeepa’s Shalini Arts. The film will be released later this month, on either February 18 or February 25.
