Talking about the Bollywood songs, they are also known as Hindi Geet or filmi songs. Bollywood songs, along with dance, are a defining theme of Hindi cinema, giving it ongoing public appeal, cultural significance, and context. They are derived from the song-and-dance routines that are frequent in Indian films.
From the first song recorded in India by Gauhar Jaan in 1902 and the first Indian Cinema’s talkie film ‘Alam Ara’ released in the year 1931 that included songs in the film. Since then music hav’nt stepped aside from that time to now. Decade after decade, with time Bollywood movies have modified and included the songs that are relevant with the era, like to talk about it in detail –

After we achieved our Independence the next phase in time i.e., the 50s, depicted the time ‘Of Hope and Start-ups’. For instance in Film: Madhumati, song Suhana Safar justified the feeling of every Indian citizen post Independence. Likewise the nest eras of The Sixties: Packed and Swinging, The Seventies: Fall and Rise of Democracy, The Eighties: Deep Churn, The Nineties: Open Sesame, The 2000s: Sonic Boom, The 2010s: Age of Shrill and so on.
