Produced on an estimated budget of ₹575 crores (US$81 million). So the sequel of Robot, 2 is the answer to the question of Which Bollywood movie is the most expensive Indian film made to date. Talking about the film, S Shankar wrote and directed the science-fiction picture 2.0, which was produced by Subaskaran Allirajah, the founder of Lyca Productions. This is the country’s first film to be shot entirely in 3D.

It is a sequel to the 2010 Tamil film Enthiran (which starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan opposite Rajinikanth), and Rajinikanth reprises his roles as Dr Vaseegaran and Chitti in 2.0, starring Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson alongside.

‘Khiladi Kumar of Bollywood’ Akshay Kumar wasn’t the first pick for the part. Shankar talked with Kamal Haasan, Aamir Khan, and Vikram in the beginning. However, none of the three parties involved in the initiative appeared to be enthusiastic about it. Following that, the crew met with Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger for the part, who agreed to work on the project for an unprecedented amount. The producers subsequently opted against signing Schwarzenegger, citing a variety of reasons for their choice. Following that, Akshay Kumar was cast as the film’s main antagonist.
