Kareena Kapoor Khan hasn’t been seen on the big screen in a long time, and her adoring fans are missing her on the bada parda. Bebo took maternity leave after the birth of her second son Jeh last year, and while she did work in the soon-to-be-released Laal Singh Chaddha, she was last seen in the 2019 film Good Newwz. Kareena is scheduled to make her comeback with Sujoy Ghosh’s next film, according to a new update.
According to reports, the film will be a cinematic translation of Japanese novelist Keigo Higashino’s novel The Devotion of Suspect X, and that will be Kareena’s first foray into the world of OTT. Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma will also appear in the yet-to-be-titled film. Kareena Kapoor Khan confirmed the news to Hindustan Times and expressed her excitement for the project, which would also mark her comeback to acting following the birth of her second kid, Jeh. She then proceeded to spill the beans on the initiative, saying, “The film is a screen adaptation of a work which was a global bestseller. It has so many aspects to it… murder, mystery, thrill and much more”.
Kareena Kapoor Khan also stated that she is excited to work with Sujoy Ghosh and was full of praise for the filmmaker and his work. “I love that he has his own method and style and is so sure of what he wants to do… every actor appreciates a director with a vision. I connected with the script,” she added.
Kareena Kapoor Khan is currently anticipating the release of Laal Singh Chaddha, in which she will star alongside Aamir Khan. The film, directed by Advait Chandan, is a Bollywood remake of the Hollywood classic Forrest Gump, and it is set to hit theatres on August 11, 2022.
