When looking at the series in chronological sequence, Thor it’s Captain America: The First Avenger that comes first, actually occurring during WWII and featuring a scrawny Steve Rogers receiving the extraordinary Super Soldier Serum for the first time.
The most recent film inside the chronological timeline is Spider-Man: No Way Home, which has been released in 2021 but takes place in 2024 owing to the Endgame time jump.
Some fans seem to think that it is the best way of watching MCU films because elements are introduced as the characters in the storey encounter them – for example, this approach makes Nick Fury’s cameo in Avengers: Infinity War more satisfying because viewers will already have the context provided by Captain Marvel.
Nevertheless, there are certain instances where this is a disadvantage, including such Ant-Man and the Wasp, which would be set mostly before even the events of Infinity War yet has a post-credits scene that spoils the epic crossover film’s finale.
