It is not every time that a movie is well-received by the public; in fact, many are not well-received at all. movies get prohibited for a variety of reasons, including excessive gore, objectionable storylines, and even the fear of instilling terror in young minds. Whatever the reason, everyone views a film differently, and one person’s favourite title may not be another’s cup of tea.

Most people are unaware of the many prohibited films that exist across the world. Whereas this list contains some of the most well-known and discussed banned films, it is by no means comprehensive. Some movies are very well, and others are not so fortunate. Take a look at the top three most censored films in the world.

3. Monty Python’s Life Of Brian (1979)

Brian of Nazareth, who was born in the same week as Jesus of Nazareth, spends his life being misunderstood as a messiah. He takes a different road as Jesus, yet he eventually meets the same fate. The film, directed by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin, satirises religion, particularly Christianity, which is viewed with suspicion by many organisations. This movie is the 3rd most banned movie of all time.

In reality, the parody was deemed blasphemous in certain areas, and it sparked several demonstrations owing to its ostensibly anti-religious intent.

2. Song Of The South (1946)

Song of the South is an Oscar-winning film about an ancient storyteller who teaches small children about the exploits of Br’er Rabbit, Br’er Bear, and Br’er Fox. It inspired the Splash Mountain ride at Disney theme parks across the world. However, since the film’s premiere, its racial caricatures have been a source of contention.

Critics have slammed the film for its portrayal of former black slaves, calling it racist owing to the disparity in racial relations and treatment in the live-action segments. And, despite the fact that this was foreseen at the time of its release, the years that followed would see the same, raging racial discussion.

1. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, including well slasher movie, portrays a cannibalistic, deformed murderer who hunts down his victims and wears their skin, as five friends discover the hard way. Because the film is a gruesome twist into an already violent genre, it has been banned all across the world.

The film was promoted as a true narrative to attract audiences, despite the fact that the plot was totally fictitious (the film was based on the real-life murders of Ed Gein, who kept mementos of his victims in his home), which sparked some controversy. The primary issue, however, was the extreme violence, which led to the picture being banned in several nations, including the United States. It is definitely the most banned movie in the world.
