Ram Prasad ki Tehrvi

‘Ram Prasad ki Tehrvi,’ was among the first movies to be released in theatres after the lockdowns, is a one-of-a-kind movie. It’s a new and original narrative in which a family’s whole existence is brought together underneath one house for 13 days following a death. According to Hindu practices and traditions, family members must live a specific way until Terhvi (the thirteenth day after the death) in order to grieve the departed. And with several members of the family there, insecurity, politics, and little incidents which can be times of self-realization play out from the household. It has been hailed by reviewers as one of Hindi cinema’s jewels in recent years.

We have listed down the top reasons to watch the movie ‘Ram Prasad ki Tehrvi’, which is now available to watch on the Netflix streaming platform, Take a look-

  1. A Directorial Debut for Seema Pahwa

Seema Pahwa, an Indian actress who has now become a director, has decided to make a movie (Ram Prasad ki Tehrvi) for the first time, and then let us simply say that she had already perfected the skill of filmmaking in each and every way. Pahwa began acting well with Hum Log serial, since and, she had provided a few of the finest works, notably her roles in Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017) as well as Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), for whom she was nominated for a Filmfare Award. The actor never has attempted her hands at directing, which is a good sufficient incentive to see the movie.

2. A fascinating ensemble of characters

The movie’s poster alone features so many well-known personalities that you really should see it even if you don’t care for one of the characters. Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma, Vinay Pathak, Vikrant Massey, Vineet Kumar, Manoj Pahwa, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Supriya Pathak, Ninad Kamat, Brijendra Kala, Parambrata Chatterjee, and several others star in the movie. And each one of their performance is fascinating and uplifting.

3. A well-written narrative and script

Ram Prasad ki Tehrvi is indeed an intimate movie with such a naturalistic style. The drama ‘Pind Daan,’ created by Pawha, seems to be the inspiration for the movie. The movie is more of a reflection of our modern families as well as the underpinning politics, among even close families, than it does about the family grieving Ramprasad’s passing. And it was at this point that now the strategy gets intensely personal.

4. A Snack on Life A movie that will inspire you with questions unanswered, optimism, and just a sense of life.

Death may be regarded as just a tabooed but gloomy occurrence within the movie, that perfectly fits into the gloomy humour category. This movie has complex situations in which you may question yourselves like a human, as a member of your family, or in overall family relationships. However, as the storey progresses, you would see the bigger picture and be filled with life at least.
