During its annual investor day presentation on Tuesday, Paramount Pictures unveiled plans for A Quiet Place 3 and another Sonic the Hedgehog sequel.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brian Robbins, the business’s recently installed president and chief executive officer of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, the company has “the biggest, most famous properties servicing everyone from preschoolers to boomers to generations X, Y, and Z.” Many of these cinematic qualities, he added, would not exist alone on the big screen. Instead, they’ll “stretch over films, programmes, and consumer items.”

In 2025, A Quiet Place Part III will be released. Other than the release date, nothing is known about the film, including the involvement of writer-director John Krasinski and actresses Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe. However, their involvement is inevitable because the third film will be a direct sequel to the pandemic-era box office blockbuster A Quiet Place Part II, which was released in 2021. Following the critical and economic success of A Quiet Place, Krasinski wrote and directed the sequel, which debuted in May 2021 and made about $300 million worldwide, a major achievement in the midst of COVID-19. The third volume is unrelated to Michael Sarnoski’s impending A Quiet Place sequel. The film’s star has yet to be revealed, although it has been planned by Paramount.

A third new movie inside the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise too has begun development at Paramount. The announcement comes ahead of the April 8 release date of Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Producers Paramount and Sega have scheduled a television series on Knuckles, a figure in Sonic’s orbit, to air alongside Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Jim Carrey will reprise his role as Doctor Robotni, while Ben Schwartz will reprise his role as the main character. James Marsden and Tika Sumpter will reprise their roles as local sheriff Tom Wachowski and his veterinary wife Maddie in the sequel.

The studio likewise utilized its stage time to reveal that Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, as well as Zachary Quinto will reprise their roles as Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, and Zachary Quinto inside a new space adventure planned to begin filming this year.

To showcase its franchise offerings, Paramount also revealed that what a new Transformers trilogy, featuring Anthony Ramos of From the Heights and directed by Creed II filmmaker Steven Caple Jr., is now in the works, as well as a spinoff animated picture starring the iconic robots. All of these film offers are in support of Paramount Plus, the studio’s in-house Netflix competitor.
