Krantiveer

Mehul Kumar helmed the Bollywood action crime movie Krantiveer in 1994. Nana Patekar, Dimple Kapadia, Atul Agnihotri, Mamta Kulkarni, Danny Denzongpa, and Paresh Rawal feature as the key characters in the movie. It also won three Star Screen Awards, four Filmfare Awards, and one National Picture Award, making it the third highest-grossing movie of the year.

Punya Bhoomi Naa Desam (1995), starring Mohan Babu, as well as Parodi (2007), starring Upendra, were both remakes of the movie. Krantiveer: The Revolution was launched as that of the sequel to Krantiveer (2010). It is a box office blockbuster, as per Box Office India.

Pratap Tilak (Nana Patekar) is the grandson of independence fighter Bheeshmanarayan Tilak. Pratap begins gambling, which causes Bheeshmanarayan to die from a spoiling attack. Pratap’s mother, Durgadevi, is furious and tells him to leave the hamlet and go. Pratap arrives in Mumbai and saves the life of Laxminath’s (Paresh Rawal) son Atul, a chawl owner (Atul Agnihotri). Pratap is kept with Laxminath by Laxminath. Atul falls in love with Mamta (Mamta Kulkarni), the daughter of a builder named Yograj, as they grow up. Pratap can’t stop giggling at Megha Dixit, a press reporter who lives in the chawl and fights injustice by writing about it in publications.

Pratap encourages individuals to be become strong enough to fight for themselves rather than relying on others for assistance. Chattursingh Chita (Danny Denzongpa) as well as Yograj want to establish a resort, so they organise communal riots, mass deaths, and home burnings. Chattursingh Chita assassinates Laxminath. Pratap discovers that Chattursingh Chita killed Megha’s parents and raped her. He offers to her marriage. Mamta goes to Atul’s residence after leaving her father’s place. Pratap assassinates the tainted ministers, the judge, and the cop. He is apprehended and sentenced to death by hanging. Chattursingh Chita plots to assassinate Pratap but is killed by him.

This is a storey of a brave man who vows to fight injustice and is willing to give his life for it. Pratap is found guilty and condemned to death by hanging. A lawyer arrives at the last time, just before Pratap is to be hanged, to notify him that the President has pardoned him.

“The major reason to see Krantiveer is Nana Patekar, who can lay claim to being the finest actor in Bollywood,” the Indian Express stated. The “strong supporting cast,” which included Kapadia and Rawal, was also mentioned in the review.
