Taran Adarsh awarded the film two stars out of five, complimenting Imran Khan’s portrayal but condemning the writing as “one of the worst of 2008.” Buzz18’s Abhishek Mande gave the film a 2/5 rating, calling it “really hilarious.” Kidnap outperformed Goldie Behl’s Drona, which has been released that same day.
