Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to be the final instalment for this crew

James Gunn, the director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, has announced that the upcoming third feature will be the final appearance of this group of Guardians on screen together.

The film’s director, James Gunn, stated on Deadline’s Hero Nation podcast that the third sequel will be the final one involving the original crew. “This is the final time anyone will see this squad of Guardians,” says the narrator.

“I simply want to be faithful to the characters and the tale, and I want to give them the wrap-up that they deserve for the storey,” he continued. That’s always a little frightening; I’m doing my best.”

“I can’t remember any comic book film where someone didn’t die!” James Gunn previously said that Vol. 3 would “probably” be his final as director, as well as confirming a character’s death, answering to a fan: “I can’t remember any comic book film where someone didn’t die!”

Starring Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, and by the end of Avengers Endgame, Karen Gillan as Nebula, and Pom Klementieff as Mantis, the current Guardians team featured Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, Dave Bautista as Drax The Destroyer, Vin Diesel as Groot, Bradley.

On May 5, 2023, the final chapter of James Gunn’s epic storey will be released.
