Rakesh Omprakash Mehra helmed Delhi-6, a 2009 Indian Bollywood drama movie. Abhishek Bachchan plays an NRI that returns to India alongside his ill grandmother as well as starts to learn about his heritage before becoming entangled inside a religious controversy with such a mysterious monkey-like assailant. Sonam Kapoor, Aditi Rao Hydari, Waheeda Rehman, Rishi Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, Atul Kulkarni, Pavan Malhotra, Deepak Dobriyal, Divya Dutta, Vijay Raaz, as well as Om Puri are among the movie’s co-stars. The number 6 relates towards the Chandni Chowk neighbourhood in Old Delhi’s Postal Index Number, which is a truncated version of 110006. Following Aks as well as Rang De Basanti, this is Mehra’s third movie.

R. Rahman wrote the movie’s music. The movie was released on February 20, 2009, followed by worldwide debuts there at the Dubai International Film Festival and the Museum of Modern Art. Despite its commercial failure, it proceeded to win the 57th National Film Awards’ Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration and also the National Film Award for Best Production Design for Samir Chanda. Mehra’s preferred conclusion has been included in the version presented towards the National Awards, although it was unavailable towards the general public and was only exhibited in a restricted one-week theatrical run and also at the Venice Film Festival.

The movie’s music has grown well-known over time. The movie was slated to be released on February 13, 2009, however, due to A. R. Rahman’s continuous unavailability first from the project, it was postponed. The background music stayed unfinished, as well as the film’s release was postponed by one week. Delhi-6 was ultimately released on February 20, 2009, after a 19 February premiere in New Delhi. The film premiered in New York on February 15, 2009.

The movie’s music is composed by A.R. Rahman. The lyricist is Prasoon Joshi. The song was premiered just at the Indian Idol 4 competition on January 14, 2009. Sonam and Abhishek were seen holding a pigeon during the first video for the song “Masakali.”

The music, nevertheless, was not included in the original movie. The filmmaker claims that “The music was never intended to be a part of a story. Who would have guessed that a song about just a dove would be used in a movie like Delhi-6? It has just occurred. I was stuck when I got to the pre-climax section of my script. I wanted something to tie the storey together and bring it to a conclusion “.. The title tune “Delhi-6,” the sentimental interlude “Rehna Tu,” and the folky “Genda Phool,” an adaption of a Chhattisgarh folk music, are among several videos produced.
