Deepika Padukone, who was most recently seen in Shakun Batra’s Gehraiyaan, has been generating a lot of attention for her remarkable filmography, which has piqued the interest of fans. The Bollywood remake of the Hollywood film The Intern has been the talk of the town since it was named among her forthcoming projects. Deepika is a co-producer on the film, which also stars Amitabh Bachchan in the major role. While fans wait for the film, the Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela actress has finally revealed details about The Intern’s filming.
Deepika Padukone recently told Mid Day that the third wave of the COVID 19 pandemic has forced them to postpone their plans to release The Intern. “The Intern will take place this year, or in the early part of 2023.” The third wave was unexpected, so it knocked a few things off track,” she explained, adding that everything is now back on schedule. After Aarakshan and Piku, The Intern will be Deepika’s third collaboration with Big B. For the uninformed, Amitabh Bachchan was not the film’s original option. The part was first offered to Rishi Kapoor, who had previously expressed interest in the project. However, after Rishi’s untimely death in 2020, Amitabh Bachchan was recruited to fill his shoes.
Apart from the remake of The Intern, Deepika Padukone is currently working on Pathan with Shah Rukh Khan, which would be her fourth collaboration with the superstar following Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, and Happy New Year in 2014. In addition, she will appear alongside Hrithik Roshan for the first time in Siddharth Anand’s highly anticipated Fighter. Deepika has also stated that she will begin work on the project in the coming months.
