During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, the celebrity held a virtual meeting to mark the film’s 20th anniversary. This time, though, the complete celebrity ensemble gathered to honour the timeless classic. Others who attended the private event included Gracy Singh, Raghubir Yadav, Rajendranath Zutshi, Raja Awasthi, Suhasini Mulay, and Amin Gazi. Irfan Pathan, a former Indian cricketer, and Aakash Chopra were also seen having a good time at the event.

For the uninitiated, Lagaan is a story set in 1893 during the colonial British Raj’s late Victorian period in India. It tells the narrative of Bhuvan (Aamir), a villager from Champaner, Gujarat, who is challenged to a game of cricket by an arrogant British officer (Paul Blackthorne) in order to avoid paying the taxes (lagaan) they owe.
