Alien

Alien is indeed a science-fiction horror/action media brand focused upon that movie franchise starring Sigourney Weaver as warrant officer Ellen Ripley and her fights with such an alien lifeform known as Xenomorph.

Alien, helmed by Ridley Scott, was the very first film in the series, which has been accompanied by three sequels: Aliens, directed by James Cameron; Alien 3, directed by David Fincher; and Resurrection, directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Scott also helmed a prequel series, Alien: Covenant, that chronicles the escapades of the David 8 android as well as the creators of the eponymous aliens.

Numerous novels, comic books, video games, as well as television programmes have been based upon that franchise. It spawned a slew of spin-offs, the much more notable of that which is the Alien vs. Predator series, which merges the and Predator franchises and comprises of two movies, and also a number of comic books, novels, and video games.

The Alien franchise portrays a sequence of violent encounters involving humans as well as the Aliens, a hostile, endoparasitoid species, mostly spanning the 21st and 24th centuries. Humanity is portrayed as just a space-faring civilization having interstellar domination; space travel takes months, if not years, as well as necessitates the usage of cryosleep.

The human race’s origins are fictionalised in this series. A member of such “Engineers,” an ancient humanoid species, sacrifices himself, enabling his DNA to start the emergence of humans. The Engineers’ previous experiments, which were supposed to eliminate the human race using a lethal mutagen, lay the way for such Aliens to arise as well as populate by traumatically implanting larvae into hosts. All through the franchise, incidents from several centuries are recounted.

In order to write a science-fiction action picture, writer Dan O’Bannon partnered with screenwriter Ronald Shusett on such a project that was first dubbed Star Beast but later changed to Alien.
