36 China Town is a mystery comedy – drama film directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Subhash Ghai that was released in India in 2006. Once Upon a Crime is an authorized adaptation of the 1992 American film (which in turn is a remake of the 1960 Italian film Crimen).
Akshaye Khanna, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Vivek Shauq, Isha Koppikar, Upen Patel (on his movie debut), Paresh Rawal, Payal Rohatgi, Johnny Lever, and Tannaz Irani (billed as Tanaaz Lal) portrayed in the movie, which also features Priyanka Chopra and Tanushree Dutta. The movie recounts a police officer’s inquiry through into assassination of Sonia Chang, a rich casino owner.
Sonia Chang (Isha Koppikar), a multimillionaire from Goa’s China Town, has indeed been kidnapped. She offers a prize from over 25 lakh rupees to reclaim my son. She resides in Goa with such a maid pair, Mr. Lobo (Dinyar Contractor) and Mrs. Lobo (Roshan Tirandas), in their opulent mansion, “36 China Town.” Rocky (Upen Patel), a neighborhood flirt, consoles Sonia.
The plot then shifts to Raj (Shahid Kapoor), a failing performer, and Priya (Kareena Kapoor), a young woman who has run away from family. After some of your aspirations have indeed been destroyed, they encounter each other.
At Mumbai, they come upon a kid who seems being alone. They feel sorry for him, but saw a missing people post, they discover this is Sonia Chang’s kid. They get together, enticed either by prize money, but intend to bring little youngster straight to their mother at Goa as well as cash out. They contact Chang after departing to inform her that they will have her child. While she and her lawyer, Mr Dixit (Vivek Vaswani), were considering a revision in her will, she got informed of her pregnancy. However, Raj develops feelings for Priya. His existence, though, irritates her.
There was only one homicide. There are seven possible suspects. A suave inspector in a fedora. All of this occurs in a strange area called China Town, which itself is rumoured to be someplace in Goa. Even so, it may have been entertaining. However, the narrative is jerky, with showy tunes, dull comedic performances by Johnny Lever and Paresh Rawal, as well as an anticlimactic finale.
The movie’s greatest disappointment is indeed the murderer. A terrifying scene represents a hirsute Rawal lounging even by pool in teeny-tiny swimwear. This really is clearly enough data then we require.
