Which Indian girl is in K-pop?

K-pop

Shreya Lenka, a 17-year-old girl from Jharsuguda in Odisha, is one of the top 23 finalists chosen from around the world to join Black Swan, an internationally recognised South Korean K-pop girl group.

The kid is the only Indian to be chosen by K-pop OR Korean music label DR Music during the global audition for Black Swan’s fifth member, which began last year when one of the group’s members quit.

International performers from many ethnic origins make up the K-Pop ensemble. Fatou, a Senegalese vocalist/rapper, and Leia, a Brazilian-Japanese singer, round out the trio, which also includes two Korean idols.

Shreya, a fan of the K-Pop group, decided to try out after seeing the online audition during the lockdown. She is a yoga devotee as well as a trained dancer. Last year, she immediately took Hindustani Classical singing classes in order to strengthen her vocal abilities.

For the audition, she had provided an unedited dance and song video. On July 3, the remaining members of Black Swan named her as a finalist live on their YouTube channel.

She starts learning about K-pop on her own. Priyanka works out in a little room, listening to and watching Kpop stars. Her sole source of assistance was the internet. Well, she certainly did an excellent job of self-teaching everything from the internet. She also enjoyed Korean dramas and films. Despite her many flaws, the singer never gave up and did her hardest to prepare and practise all she could. Despite her rigorous schedule, she always made time for practice.
