ASTRO’s MJ is taking a hiatus from all promotional efforts

MJ, the lead vocalist of the South Korean band ASTRO, is said to be temporarily suspending all promotional activities owing to health concerns.

According to Soompi, MJ’s management agency, Fantagio Entertainment, formally declared on January 28 that he will be taking a vacation from all activities in order to focus on his health.

“Hello,” the agency stated in an official statement. Fantagio is the name of the piece. As we issue a statement regarding member MJ temporarily ceasing activities, we’d want to thank the AROHA [ASTRO’s official fans] who always show ASTRO their undying devotion.”

The statement continued, “During his recent promotions, ASTRO’s MJ noticed issues with his health, and so he went to the hospital for an in-depth checkup. In keeping with his doctor’s opinion that [MJ] needs sufficient rest and treatment, we have decided that he will be temporarily halting all activities.”

“For the moment, MJ will be focusing entirely on his recovery and treatment during his hiatus, and he plans to temporarily halt all activities until he recovers his health.” it further said.

“We appeal for your gracious understanding about just the fact that we would have decided on a short vacation from activities for the purpose of healthier activities in the future,” the agency said in the statement. Our artists’ health is our main priority, but we’re doing everything we can to assist them to recover as fast as possible. “Thank you very much.”

Kim Myung Jun, better known by his stage name MJ, made his debut in 2016 as the lead vocalist of the South Korean boy band ASTRO. Cha Eun Woo, Yoon San Ha, Moon Bin, JinJin (Park Jin-Woo), as well as Rocky are among the group’s other members (Park Min Hyuk). At the 2021 MBC Music Festival, the group played ‘One’ and ‘After Midnight.’
