Director James Wan’s Insidious 5 is poised to go into production, ten years after the first contemporary classic’s debut and three sequels later. Patrick Wilson, who stars in the series, stated that the picture is almost set to start production during a press event for his upcoming feature Moonfall.
Inside an interview with Screenrant, Wilson was asked if the horror sequel was moving forward, which he responded, “Yeah, we are.” We’re currently investigating sites and will begin filming in the spring.” This is fantastic news, considering there haven’t been any updates on the sequel’s production since the announcement of its development in late 2020.
Despite the fact that Insidious has spawned three unexpectedly good sequels, Collider reports that this upcoming picture is particularly fascinating since Patrick Wilson will indeed be making his directorial debut with that as well.
Josh and Dalton Lambert, his and Ty Simpkins’ father-son combination, will make an appearance. The only additional detail concerning the sequel is that it takes place ten years after the first film, with Dalton starting college. Scott Teems, who recently co-wrote Halloween Kills, adapted a concept from series co-creator Leigh Whannell for the film.
Patrick Wilson has built a reputation for himself in the horror genre with films such as In The Tall Grass and, most notably, his portrayal of Demonologist Ed Warren in The Conjuring.
