Euphoria, Sydney Sweeney requested to remove nude scenes

Sydney Sweeney, who portrays Cassie on the acclaimed HBO series Euphoria, talked about how she felt ignored and oversexualized because of the show’s repeated naked scenes. The 24-year-old rising actress observed “unnecessary” topless moments and asked that they be removed from the film.

“It is something that has worried me for sometime,” Sydney Sweeney remarked inside a recent interview well With Independent about her naked moments from the programme.

“I’m quite pleased with my performance in Euphoria. It was a fantastic performance, in my opinion. But because I was nude, no one talks about it.”

“I do The White Lotus,” Sydney said, “and then all of a sudden reviewers are paying attention.” People seem to adore me.

‘Oh my God, what is she going to do next?’ they’re thinking. ‘Did you not see that in Euphoria?’ I asked.

Sydney also mentioned the “bias against actors who become naked on TV,” and how in season 2 of Euphoria, she was more cautious of her nude moments. Sweeney stated, “When a guy does have a sex scene or reveals his body, yet still wins prizes and receives applause.” “However, when a girl does it, it’s an entirely other storey.”

“I’ve never felt like Sam has forced it on me or been trying to get a nude scene,” she said of Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, who has been understanding and listening to her desire for less nudity on the latest season of the successful programme. There are moments where Cassie was supposed to be shirtless and I would tell Sam, ‘I don’t really think that’s necessary here.’ He was like, ‘OK, we don’t need it.’ When I didn’t want to do it, he didn’t make me.” she shared.
