Kapil Sharma recalls the occasion when Rahul Gandhi’s supporters

Kapil Sharma is a popular comedian as well as TV host who has brought laughter and joy all over the world. He has, nevertheless, irritated a segment of the population at times. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, was upset by his supporters when he tagged the predecessor in a twitter message he sent in a drunken haze in September 2016.

In his Netflix programme, Kapil Sharma: I’m Not Done Yet, Kapil Sharma discusses this topic. The show’s creators even mentioned it in the advertising, which has added to the excitement for the hour-long special.

It has now been revealed that Kapil Sharma has spoken of a lesser-known incident in which he was chastised by supporters of Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Indian National Congress and a competitor of Narendra Modi. While campaigning for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Kapil said that Narendra Modi had taunted Rahul Gandhi by saying in a speech, “Rahul Gandhi performs so much comedy that he would throw Kapil out of business”!

Kapil said that he doesn’t know much about politics at this point, but he was pleased that another powerful person had mentioned his name. As a result, Kapil Sharma, without considering the consequences, posted a video of Narendra Modi’s remark about him on his Facebook page.

Kapil Sharma, as predicted, received a lot of flak for it. “Uss din mujhe pata chala ki Rahul Gandhi ke followers bhi kam nahi hai,” he said, eliciting laughter. “Mujhe Hindi mein toh gaaliyan padi, mujhe Italian mein bhi gaaliyan padi,” Kapil said, referring to Rahul Gandhi’s Italian ties. He further stated that he ingested the insults in the same way that he consumes spaghetti, an Italian delicacy!

The other political occurrence recounted by Kapil in Kapil : I’m Not Done Yet is the time he met Congressman Manmohan Singh, who is also a successful economist and India’s Prime Minister for the past ten years.
