Ranveer Singh discusses his badminton match with Deepika Padukone

Ranveer Singh is a huge sports fan, as he has proven time and time again. His passion for football is undeniable, and he is frequently seen raving about his favourite team. Deepika Padukone, his ladylove, was also a sportswoman who competed at a national level in badminton before breaking into Bollywood. So, when Ranveer was recently asked if he and Deepika had a badminton match, the actor gushed about the actress and acknowledged that she gives him a terrible time during the game.

During a recent interview with the Hindustan Times, Ranveer claimed that he has never defeated Deepika in a game. “We started dating in 2012. It’s been 10 years and I am yet to beat her. And it’s not for lack of trying. I am running around sweating,” he added.

He further stated that, despite his improvements over time, he is still unable to defeat Deepika. Deepika Padukone’s badminton skills came from her father, Prakash Padukone, who was one of India’s best badminton players.

Ranveer also talked about playing badminton with his father-in-law and how Prakash Padukone’s celebrity never ceases to astonish him. He also emphasised how every time the great badminton player picks up a racquet, he puts on a show. “He has this almost saint-like energy,” Ranveer said. He is an outstanding legend, and the sort of life and value advice he provides with us as his children is priceless.”

Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh is looking forward to the release of YRF’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar, in which he stars alongside Shalini Pandey. The film, directed by Divyang Thakkar, is set to hit theatres on May 13th of this year. In addition, Ranveer will be seen opposite Pooja Hegde in Cirkus.
