Dasvi, Nimrat Kaur new film starring Abhishek Bachchan and Yami Gautam, was released today on Netflix and Jio Cinema. The actress has been praised by the public for her portrayal as Chief Minister Bimla Devi in the film. Now, the Lunchbox actress has revealed the name of a Bollywood actor she would want to see as Chief Minister in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama. She used the identity of director Karan Johar and remarked, “I think he will be a wonderful CM. He’ll be so lovely, so warm, and entertaining. It’ll be nice. My vote is for Karan Johar.”
She was also asked to choose a Bollywood actor she would like to accompany her for ten days in a jail cell. “Amitabh Bachchan,” she said. When she mentioned her co-star Abhishek Bachchan, he busted out laughing. Nimrat also stated why she picked Big B, saying, “I have always wanted to work with him. I have said this from time to time and it’s a big wish. Until I get to do that and if I get 10 days, what a marvelous time it would be to like to listen to what he’s saying if he recites poetry.”
Nimrat had already discussed how she prepared for her role. She is heard speaking in a Haranyavi dialect throughout the film. She stated that this was her first time and that she had to prepare herself for the endeavour. “It was even more challenging for me because I speak fluent Punjabi, which is very close to Haryanvi yet very different. So, I had to make sure it didn’t come off as Punjabi dialect,” added Nimrat.
Nimrat’s next project is the second season of the Apple Original series Foundation, which he will star in.
