Sooraj Barjatya, the director-producer, is now shooting in Nepal for his upcoming film Uunchai, which stars Amitabh Bachchan, Parineeti Chopra, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, and Sarika.
Sooraj Barjatya arrived in the city on Monday and headed to Kanpur to scout locations, according to multiple sources. The director of Hum Saath Saath Hain visited Rumi Darwaza, Ambedkar Park, and Hazratganj in Lucknow on Tuesday to research potential filming locations. Amitabh, Neena Gupta, Boman Irani, Nafisa Ali Sodhi, Danny Denzongpa, and Anupam Kher appear in the film, which will begin filming in Lucknow, Agra, and Kanpur on March 10.
After directing the Salman Khan hit Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in 2015, Sooraj Barjatya returns to filmmaking with Uunchai.
He also authored the screenplay for the film, which is thought to be based on the storey of a group of elderly individuals who form a bond.Amitabh Bachchan reunites with Sooraj Barjatya after more than 30 years. He last worked with him in Khuda Gawah in 1991.
