Who is Russell Crowe?

Russell Crowe is indeed a singer, actor, director, as well as musician. He was born in New Zealand, lived in Australia for ten years as a youngster, and migrated there permanently just at age of 21. He rose to prominence as Roman General Maximus Decimus Meridius inside the epic period drama Gladiator (2000), about which he received an Academy Award, a Broadcast Movie Critics Association Award, an Empire Award, as well as a London Film Critics Circle Award for Best Leading Actor, as well as ten other nominations in the very same category.

Other award-winning portrayals by Crowe include Jeffrey Wigand, a tobacco company whistleblower, in the drama film The Insider (1999) and John F. Nash in the biopic A Beautiful Mind (2001).

He’s also appeared in movies including Romper Stomper (1992), L.A. Confidential (1997), Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003), Cinderella Man (2005), 3:10 to Yuma (2007), American Gangster (2007), State of Play (2009), and Robin Hood.

Crowe went on to feature in the musical drama Les Misérables (2012), the superhero epic Man of Steel (2013), the biblical fantasy drama Noah (2014), and the action-comedy The Nice Guys, among other films (2016). With the drama The Water Diviner, in which he also featured, he made his directorial debut in 2014. He has received several honours, including a plaque on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, two Golden Globe Awards, one BAFTA Award, and one Academy Award nomination in three years.

Crowe recorded a song called “I Want to Be Like Marlon Brando” in the 1980s under the moniker “Russ le Roq.”

Crowe and his buddy Billy Dean Cochran established the band Roman Antix in the 1980s, which subsequently became Thirty Odd Foot of Grunts, an Australian rock band (abbreviated to TOFOG). Crowe was the band’s primary vocalist and guitarist when it began in 1992. The Photograph Kills EP was published in 1995, followed by three full-length albums, Gaslight (1998), Bastard Life or Clarity (2001), and Other Ways of Speaking (2001). (2003). TOFOG played in London, Los Angeles, and Austin, Texas in 2000. The band toured the United States in 2001, with stops in Austin, Boulder, Chicago, Portland, San Francisco, Hollywood, Philadelphia, New York City, and Asbury Park, New Jersey.
