Coy Luther “Luke” Perry III or Luke Perry was an actor from the United States. From 1990 to 1995, and then again from 1998 to 2000, he played Dylan McKay upon that Fox television series Beverly Hills, 90210, which made him a teen idol. Upon that CW series Riverdale, he played Fred Andrews. He appeared in a number of television shows, including Criminal Minds, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Simpsons, and Will & Grace, and starred in a number of movies, which include Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992), 8 Seconds (1994), The Fifth Element (1997), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), which was his final great movie.

Luke Perry was born on October 11, 1966, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Ann Perry, a housewife, and Coy Luther Perry Jr., a steelworker, as the second of three children. His parents split in 1972, as well as his mother eventually married construction worker Steve Bennett, with whom she had another kid. In 1980, his biological father died after a heart attack. Perry grew up in Fredericktown, Ohio, and played Fredericktown High School’s mascot, Freddie Bird.

Perry travelled to Los Angeles immediately after graduating from high school in 1984 to pursue acting. He worked for an asphalt paving firm and a doorknob manufacturer, among other places.

Perry made his acting debut inside the Twisted Sister music video “Be Chrool to Your Scuel” in 1985, and so by 1988, he had auditioned for 256 gigs without earning his first offer. Perry’s first roles following relocating to New York were already on daytime soap operas, including one instalment of Loving (1987–1988) as well as ten episodes of Another World (1988–1989).

Perry landed the part of Dylan McKay, the brooding millionaire’s son, in Fox’s adolescent drama Beverly Hills, 90210 in 1990. He tried out for the part of Steve Sanders, however, Ian Ziering beat him to it.

Perry became such a famous teen idol as a result of this play; a brawl broke out when 10,000 young females showed up for an autograph session at The Fashion Mall at Plantation in August 1991, forcing him to depart after 90 seconds. Perry landed a supporting part in the original film adaptation of Joss Whedon’s Buffy The Vampire Slayer while appearing on 90210. (1992). In 1992, he starred in Terminal Bliss and in 1994, he played Lane Frost in 8 Seconds.

In 1995, he chose to leave Beverly Hills, 90210 in order to pursue more adult roles. In the same year, he played himself in the Italian film Vacanze di Natale ’95.
