What is ArcLight Hollywood?

ArcLight Hollywood

The ArcLight Hollywood was indeed a 15-screen multiplex in Hollywood, California, located at 6360 Sunset Boulevard. The 15 screens all had stadium seating and were THX certified for the best sound and visual quality. The structure is next to the Cinerama Dome, that was once a part of such ArcLight complex.

The theatre first opened its doors on March 22, 2002. The ArcLight Hollywood was the very first ArcLight theatre to open, and it has been regarded as that of the company’s flagship. The Decurion Corporation, which also controlled Pacific Theatres, owned this as a subsidiary.

Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the theatre was briefly shuttered in March 2020. Pacific Theatres stated on April 12, 2021 that perhaps the entire ArcLight and Pacific Theatres chains will close forever due to a lack of a viable route ahead following the pandemic. “After closing our doors and over a year ago, today we must convey the painful as well as sad news that Pacific would not be reopening its ArcLight Cinemas as well as Pacific Theatres locations,” the parent firm, The Decurion Corporation, stated inside a statement towards the Los Angeles Times. “This was not the desired conclusion, however despite a massive effort which ruled out all other possibilities, the firm doesn’t even have a sustainable path ahead.”

The ArcLight Sherman Oaks was leased to Regal Cinemas on June 19, 2021. Regal plans to spend $10 million to renovate the theatre and add Regal RPX, ScreenX, and 4DX. The Regal Cinemas franchise reopened the cinema in July of 2021.

Customers at ArcLight Hollywood were treated to a variety of services. Seating was allocated in each theatre. Trailers have been the only promotional content displayed prior to showtimes. The concession stands throughout all ArcLight cinemas served alcohol.

An Usher Greeter would explain the movie towards the crowd at showtime, just before the trailers began, as well as state ArcLight’s quality assurance rules.

i.e., two ushers might remain inside the cinema until the movie had started for a few minutes to guarantee that perhaps the visual and sound quality were satisfactory. The usher would indeed request that the crowd put their telephones on mute as well as refrain from texting. After a movie had began, seating was restricted in accordance with ArcLight’s tagline, “Your Movie Time Uninterrupted.”

All ArcLight sites had digital displays of its features as of September 2011. For archiving and special presentations, each venue has two houses with Kinoton 35mm projectors.

Local art shows or props and costumes from recent movies were frequently shown at the ArcLight.
