Selena Gomez, an actress and singer, has indeed been announced as that of an investor in Gopuff, a $15 billion firm known for delivering food as well as groceries in record speed.

The 29-year-old Grammy nominee told Fortune on Tuesday that the first time she received a delivery from the company’s service, she was impressed. The musician told Fortune, “The first time I heard of Gopuff was one night when I was hanging out with some pals at home.” “Someone proposed Gopuff since we needed things from the store but no one wanted to get in the vehicle and drive. The speed with which our purchase came astounded me.”

“I started hearing their name and seeing the Gopuff brand all everywhere after that,” she continued.

The singer also spoke about what she expects to work on then and invest in the future, however she did not divulge how much she invested. “When that deal closed, I was beyond thrilled and it really piqued my interest in the other aspects of business and investing,” Gomez said. “As for what is next, I have a few things up my sleeve.”

Gopuff differs from firms like DoorDash and Postmates, according to Fortune, since the startup, which was started in 2013, controls the merchandise that is provided on its site. The firm now operates 550 micro-fulfilment sites in the United States and the United Kingdom, with deliveries arriving in under 30 minutes.

Along with the investment, the site will sell ice cream from Gomez’ Serendipity Brands, which he co-owns. Dan Folkman, the company’s SVP, told Fortune, “We’re really excited about collaborating with local firms.”

“Selena was obviously already a partner [in Serendipity] and she has her own flavour. So to be able to bring that flavour to the market and have it as a place where people can get it on Gopuff, we think is a home run.”

He added, “For celebrities like Selena to promote a product on social media and within 20 minutes, have it at someone’s door is game-changing for brands.”

Selena Gomez, on the other side, worked on a song called 999 with Colombian artist Camilo, which was released on August 27, 2021.
