For Indian variant of Modern Love, Amazon Prime unites six filmmakers

We’ve learned that Amazon Prime Video is embarking on such a romantic comedy anthology which will feature six highly regarded Hindi film filmmakers. Vishal Bhardwaj (Haider, Maqbool), Hansal Mehta (Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story), Alankrita Shrivastava (Lipstick Under My Burkha), Shonali Bose (The Sky Is Pink), Anjali Menon (Bangalore Days), as well as Dhruv Sehgal (Little Things) have joined the streaming giant to initiate six unique tales about just the joys and tribulation.

Anthologies have recently been the flavour of the season. OTT platforms have already been pumping out anthologies after anthologies, appealing to a variety of consumers. From Lust Stories to Unpaused to Ajeeb Daastaans to Ray to Navarasa, Indian filmmakers have recently begun utilising the full potential of this format, which provides a variety of storytelling and therefore is simple to watch because of its own short length. As well as the trend is set to continue, with a slew of new anthologies upon that way, such as the one we’re revealing exclusively tonight.

The initiative is indeed an Indian translation of Amazon Prime Video’s blockbuster American anthology Modern Love, which was influenced by real-life personal essays from the very same famous New York Times newspaper column.

Authentic love stories based in India would be included in the Indian adaptation of the John Carney anthology. Only its idea, as well as title as from the American anthology, have been retained, as well as the film will contain new stories set in various locations of India. This enormous production will feature a cast of well-known and brilliant performers who will address love in all its manifestations, encompassing sexual, romantic, familial, platonic, and self-love.

Modern Love is already in the works since August and it will hit the screens in Mumbai shortly. Via her label Pritish Nandy Communications, Rangita Pritish Nandy, the creator of Amazon Prime’s Four More Shots Please! series is presenting this anthology. Since last year’s Unpaused, which has been set as well as recorded during the COVID-19 lockdown, this is her second anthology for Amazon Prime Video. Raj & DK, Nitya Mehra, Nikkhil Advani, Avinash Arun, as well as Tannishtha Chatterjee helmed the five stories of love, fresh beginnings, second chances, as well as a glimpse of hope.
