From Scripture to Screen: Siddharth Gupta Immersed Himself in the Bhagavad Gita to Become Krishna in Krishnavataram

The epic cinematic saga Krishnavataram, based on the life and legacy of Lord Krishna, has been winning hearts worldwide and witnessing a successful theatrical run across markets. In just one week of its release, the film has sparked massive conversations among audiences, devotees, and cinema lovers alike for its emotionally powerful storytelling, spiritual depth, and grand visual spectacle. Headlined by Siddharth Gupta as Lord Krishna, alongside Sanskruti Jayana as Satyabhama, Sushmitha Bhatt as Radha, and Nivaashiyni Krishnan as Rukmini, the film continues to receive overwhelming appreciation across the globe.

Actor Siddharth Gupta recently opened up about the intense spiritual and emotional preparation that went into portraying one of India’s most revered and beloved figures, Lord Krishna. Adding to the film’s growing momentum, Krishnavataram was recently declared tax-free in Uttar Pradesh by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and continues to receive immense love and support from Krishna devotees worldwide.

Speaking about his preparation process, Siddharth shared, “I did not watch any films or television portrayals of Lord Krishna. Instead, all my preparation came through books, scriptures, and deep reading. I read the Bhagavad Gita and the Bhagavata Purana every single day during the day and before going to sleep. It transformed my understanding completely. Reading these sacred granths was truly an eye-opener for me.”

Directed by Hardik Gajjar, Krishnavataram is presented and produced by Sajan Raj Kurup and Shobha Sant of Creativeland Studios Entertainment, along with Poonam Shroff and Parth Gajjar of Athashrikatha Motion Pictures. Envisioned as the first chapter of an ambitious three-part cinematic franchise, Krishnavataram is currently running successfully in theatres worldwide.
