“Euphoria” is a solo song by Jungkook, a member of the South Korean boy band BTS. It was released as part of the compilation album Love Yourself: Answer on August 24, 2018. DJ Swivel, Candace Nicole Sosa, “hitman” bang, Supreme Boi, Adora, and RM collaborated on the song, with DJ Swivel serving as the only producer. That although music video was published in April, the song Love Yourself: Answer was not released until August.
The music video was published as a theme for the Love Yourself series’ Wonder. The video, which runs for nine minutes, follows the “Bangtan Universe” storey arc that has been featured in several of BTS’ music videos.
During their live performance at the 2017 Melon Music Awards, BTS hinted to the song’s title by showing the word Euphoria. “Euphoria” became a worldwide trend after its publication, with searches for the term increasing by 2883 percent. The song was also used as the music for HBO’s Euphoria season 1 finale (TV series).
The video includes clips from past BTS music videos to continue their in-universe tale, portraying each member as a character with unique origins and challenges. Members V and Jungkook have been seen plunging into the water, Jungkook being assaulted by goons, and other members being trapped in flames and rooms in earlier recordings. The song concludes in one of these analogies, with the seven members returning to the beach where V had leapt. The Clair de lune plays once again as Jin, in an other universe-like twist, takes V’s position just at pier’s top, ready to leap instead of V. Jin glances down at his companions and captures them with his video camera as V appears to detect something is wrong. He smiles, seemingly satisfied, before his video camera falls into the ocean, meaning that.
