Shahid Kapoor is quite busy these days, and for good reason. The actor, who was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s 2019 release Kabir Singh, is now looking forward to the release of his long awaited sports drama Jersey. Helmed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the movie will star Shahid in the role of a cricketer and he has worked hard to get into the skin of the character. The film was supposed to be released in December 2021, however it was postponed owing to the COVID-19 second wave. Jersey is set to be released on April 14 this year, after much delay.
Shahid Kapoor and co-star Mrunal Thakur are busy promoting Jersey ahead of the film’s release. Shahid and Mrunal were photographed in the city today for the promotion of their sports drama, and both of them were winning hearts with their fashion statements. The Batti Gul Meter Chalu actor wore a grey t-shirt with a striped jacket and pants, as well as a pair of grey shoes, for a comfortable yet elegant appearance. Mrunal Thakur, on the other hand, looked lovely in a blue and white ensemble with her hair left free.
When it comes to Jersey, the film is a genuine Bollywood replica of the National Award-winning Telugu film of the same name, which starred Nani in the main role. Jersey, in addition to Shahid and Mrunal, will star Pankaj Kapur in a major role and will compete with KGF: Chapter 2 at the box office.
