Salman Khan Dances With Varun, Teases Rashmika at IIFA 2027
Salman Khan turned an IIFA 2027 press call into a jig with Varun Dhawan and teased Rashmika Mandanna about her debut pay, days after a tense security week.

Salman Khan turned a routine IIFA 2027 press call into an impromptu performance in Mumbai on Thursday evening. Flanked by heavy security, the actor still seemed in his most relaxed public form in days, joking with Kareena Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Rashmika Mandanna.
Hosting advice, the Salman way
Varun Dhawan was standing beside Salman as the press gathered. When a reporter asked Salman what tips he had for Varun, his answer came fast: “Don’t host it. You’ll lose six hours just in hosting.” Then he pulled Varun into a quick dance instead, telling him to “just do this and leave” and let the professionals handle the rest.
The moment was pure Salman: part gentle trolling, part showman. It also gave the room a lighter energy at a time when his public appearances have been anything but routine.
Rashmika’s debut gets the pay joke
Rashmika told the gathering that next year marks her first IIFA performance. “This is my debut, guys, and I’m very, very excited,” she said. Salman wordlessly signalled that the pay might be the exciting part, then kept the bit going as she repeated how thrilled she was. He also joked that it took her so long to join the IIFA stage because of their film Sikandar.
Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor, both present on stage, laughed along with the exchange.
Why the light moment lands differently
The cheerful appearance comes days after an October 19 shooting in Mumbai. An aide of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi later claimed responsibility and pointed to the victim’s association with Salman as the reason. Ten suspects have been detained in the case so far, and three arrests were made within hours of the shooting, according to Hindustan Times.
Salman’s security was visibly heavy at the event, and he has been dealing with threats from the Bishnoi network for years. He will not shoot Bigg Boss 20’s Weekend Ka Vaar this weekend; he had already told viewers before the incident that he would be away and had asked Rohit Shetty to host the next Weekend Ka Vaar.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has responded to the film industry’s shock with a pledge that “no one will be spared.” For fans, Thursday’s clips are a reminder of the Salman they turn up for: quick with a joke, allergic to staying still, and still the biggest pull in a room full of stars.
